History:
The Russian Liberation Army (POA) was a Russian military force subordinate to the High Command of the armies of Nazi Germany during The Second World War.

Vlasov, a Soviet general, agreed to collaborate with Nazi Germany after he was captured on the Eastern Front. The soldiers under his command were primarily former Soviet POWs, but also included White Russian emigrants, some of whom were veterans of the anti-Communist White Army of the Russian Civil War (1917-1923). On November 14, 1944, it was officially renamed the Armed Forces of the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia, with KONR being formed as a political body to which the army swore allegiance. On January 28, 1945, it was officially declared that the Russian divisions were no longer part of the German army, but would be directly under the command of KONR.

Towards the end of the war, in 1945, many of its units had switched sides and were fighting with the Allies until Germany surrendered. In May 1945, members of the ROA switched sides and joined the anti-Nazi uprising in Prague. Still, Vlasov and other leaders of this movement were arrested by the Soviets and later executed for treason.
