There is a summary of my findings at the bottom of this description.
In my 2013 Honda Fit if you have a tpms problem such as a low tire the vehicle forces the VSA system to stay on and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it without modifying the vehicle.
In my situation my winter rims don't have sensors in them so I can't turn off VSA.
This video is an exploration into ways to turn off the VSA system because occasionally I might need to "power out" of getting stuck and the VSA system as you may know cuts engine power when it detects slipping.
Summary
VSA Disable Switch With TPMS Off -- Turns off VSA without issue. Press the button again to turn VSA back on.
VSA Disable Switch -- Does nothing with TPMS Light On
VSA Disable Switch Unplugged -- Does nothing for my 2013 but might work on 2009-2011 Fits
Removing Under Dash TPMS 7.5A Fuse(2) -- Will probably turn on TPMS light on dash and force VSA. It did nothing for my situation where TPMS light was already on. VSA Disable Switch continued to not function
Pulling Parking Brake On (just enough for brake light to illuminate and full pull) -- VSA still operates ABS??
Unplugging Brake Position Switch -- Disabled brake lights. Disabled shift lock solenoid making it impossible to shift into gear without override. Did not test for VSA ABS functionality as this was impractical.
Removing Under Dash ABS/VSA 7.5A Fuse(11) -- Disables VSA,ABS,TCS,EPS. Illuminates VSA,ABS,EPS,BRAKE lights. Causes flashing D light indicating constant TCM fault communicated to PCM.
Reinstalling fuse required a restart of the car to get rid of all dash lights. ABS,BRAKE,EPS reenabled when fuse was reinstalled.
Removing Under Dash ABS/VSA 30A Small Fuse(37) -- Disables VSA,ABS,TCS. Illuminates VSA,ABS,BRAKE lights. Cases flashing D light indicating constant TCM fault communicated to PCM.
Reinstalling fuse reenabled ABS and got rid of ABS and BRAKE lights. Left with flashing D and VSA light. Flashing D light disappeared after one key cycle. VSA disappeared after 3 key cycles.
Removing Under Dash ABS/VSA MTR 30A Box Fuse(58) Did not remove but should disable ABS and VSA as the pump will not function
Unplugging ABS Speed Sensor (Right front seemed easiest to get to in the engine bay sticking through the inner fender low behind your oil cap)
--- Disables VSA,ABS,TCS. Illuminates VSA and ABS lights
Plugging the sensor back in does not turn off VSA or ABS lights. One key cycle does.
Unplugging Steering Angle Sensor -- Disabled VSA, TCS turned on VSA Light.
Required a key cycle to reset system
Unplugging Yaw Sensor - Disabled VSA, TCS turned on VSA Light
Required a key cycle to reset system
