Can a small folding e-bike make it up a very steep hill? I've been using the Fiido X v2 for a long-term review since October 2022 and was curious to see how it performed on a very steep hill. The hill in question is short, but steep with gradients over 20% in places.
The Fiido X is a great folding electric bike, but it's only suitable for moderate hill climbs. Plus, with a 52t chainring and 14-28 7-speed drivetrain, it's not geared low enough for anything much above 10%.
To be fair, it's not really designed for going up steep hills, and for general day-to-day riding, commuting and leisure riding, I have no problem recommending the Fiido.
