Inclusion and accessibility are key aspects when designing buildings and public spaces. This is the cornerstone of inclusive architecture.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆?
Accessibility is the ease of access and participation for all people, regardless of their individual characteristics or needs.
In the design of buildings and public spaces, accessibility refers to adapting these spaces so that they are easily accessible to all.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?
Accessibility can also include adapting services and programmes so that they are easily accessible and usable by all people. This may include the provision of materials in accessible formats for people with visualimpairments or the use of sign language interpreters.
