RTX 4060 8GB vs RTX 3060 12GB - VRAM is KING? TEST in 8 GAMES at 1080p 1440p 4K.
My Review RTX 4060 8GB - The next generation of the popular midrange GPU RTX 4060 is now coming to market. Unfortunately, we didn't see a VRAM increase in the new generation GeForce 4060. The RTX 4060 only comes with 8GB of VRAM and I'm afraid that will be the biggest problem with this card. In the following test you will see how in many ways the older RTX 3060 12GB can beat the new RTX 4060 just because of the VRAM size. The chip itself isn't bad, bringing benefits in a number of areas. The RTX 4060 has the next generation Tensor and Ray Tracing Core as well as DLSS 3 support, NVIDIA has also added to the L2 Cache size. For 1080p resolution this card is suitable and is more powerful than its predecessor, unfortunately in other cases it is very problematic. If the card gets 12GB of VRAM I believe its performance will be very satisfactory. But I'm not too happy with the current state. The RTX 4060 is suitable for 1080p gaming, as a replacement for the basic RTX 3060, but there are better alternatives on the market. Personally, I would pay the extra money and buy the RTX 4070.
All DLSS 3, 2 and FSR settings is Quality. With DLSS 3 is Frame Generation ON.
