Book review and summary of Hold on to Your Kids by Gabor Maté and Gordon Newman. I review the book "Hold on to Your Kids" by Gabor Maté & Gordon Neufeld, which discusses the importance of attachment and the dangers of peer orientation. The authors argue that the increasing bond between children and their peers has undermined parental love and authority, and can have negative consequences for a child's emotional development. I share some signs of peer orientation and the solution proposed by the authors to promote individuating and independence. As a parent, I found Hold on to Your Kids enlightening and frightening, and it has given me the tools to improve my relationship with my children and reclaim my authority.
