A movie showing the behaviour of the flow for initial Rρ = ∞. It is speeded up by 6 times and starts with pulling the metal barrier. This experiment considers an extreme case, where there is no sediment in the current and therefore the density ratio is infinity. The surface current quickly propagates to the end of the tank. As we have no settling of particles in this case, the current moves fast. The experiment was carried out by Shahrzad Davarpanah Jazi at the Environmental Fluid Dynamics Lab at University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Mathew Wells.
