🧚♂️WHO AM I?
My name is Kate and I am very passionate about learning, especially in the Early Years from 0-8. I have a background in Early Childhood (Bachelor's and Master of Education), VET and Tertiary education (both face-to-face classroom teaching and online learning). I have worked in the early childhood profession for over 13 years in various positions: as a nanny, playgroup coordinator, and storyteller at the local library, completed Certificate 3, Bachelor and Masters of Early Childhood Education, and Graduate Certificate of research. With time and gained experience, I enjoyed more leadership-like roles, such as an educational leader, trainer/ assessor, eLearning Advisor and unit coordinator. Every year I enjoy working as a relief ECT in different preschools and long daycare centres to keep current. I love playing piano and ukulele; singing with children and pre-service teachers; write poetry and silly songs. I am also a book nerd and read everything related to early childhood education and care.
Who is STORYKATE for?👵🧓👳♀️👩💻
STORYKATE channel is all about early childhood education and care. As an early childhood teacher and teacher's educator, I love to share my passion for early learning through stories; puppet shows, action songs, circle games, children's songs, and thoughts about helping young children to learn. With a strong focus on storytelling, teaching with puppets, music and play, I will demonstrate the ways to create an engaging program for children, with a particular emphasis on circle time (group time, meeting time or yarning circle). I am committed to supporting the community for early childhood pre-service educators (Certificate 3 in ECEC, diploma in ECEC and a Bachelor of ECEC and working professionals. I vision STORYKATE as a space to share ideas, examples of good practice; reflections and fun!
