"It is my personal opinion that it is not a good thing to have more U-S troops in Afghanistan. It's better if the US and the global alliance support the Northern Alliance to do the job of fighting the Taliban. We can do the job of finding Bin Laden and destroying the camps. "

STORYLINE:
The Afghan Northern Alliance's spokesman inside Iran has said he thinks the US should leave the job of finding Osama Bin Laden to the alliance's own troops.
Toryali Ghyasi, based in the frontier town of Mashhad, Capital of Iran's Northeastern Khorasan province, also said 10 thousand former Taliban supporters had defected to the Northern Alliance.
Iran is one of the most important bases for the Northern Alliance outside Afghanistan because it was until recently one of the main backers of the Alliance.
Mainly Shi'ite Muslim Iran has been fearful of the extreme form of Sunni Islam espoused by the Taliban.
Since September 11, the Northern Alliance has received backing from the U-S and its allies in its fight against the ruling Taliban.
