Transcript:
The thermistor senses the temperature inside the freezer. If your thermistor is defective, your freezer might not cool to the temperature you set it at. Use the diagnostic test mode to see if you need to replace the thermistor. Before you begin, wear work gloves to protect your hands. Unplug the freezer or shut off the circuit breaker for the freezer. Remove the shelves from the freezer. Remove the screws from the evaporator cover. Pull the evaporator cover out of the freezer. Remove the thermistor mounting screw. Cut the wires close to the old thermistor and then remove it. Strip off about a 1/4 inch of the insulation from the ends of the wires in the freezer. Cut the wires to about 4 inches from the new thermistor and strip off 1/4 inch of the wire insulation. Connect the like-color wires together with wire nuts. Position the new thermistor on the back wall and reinstall the mounting screw. Place the evaporator cover on the back wall. Push the gasket into the sides of the cover. Reinstall the mounting screws. Put the shelves back in place. Plug in the freezer or turn on the house circuit breaker to restore power.
