For the best install of a water softening system, we would like to think we are there at the top.
Here is an example of a poor installation, and a water softener with problems due to the install. This customer hired a Kinetico authorised dealer to install a Kinetico Premier Compact and a Reverse osmosis K2 drinking system. There was plenty of space but not much care had taken place, and little thought. Press fittings have been used in a untidy manner, and some valves were unaccessible. The drain for the reverse osmosis sytsem was poorly done, and a check valve had been forced open with the drain line, causing smells to occur. Food waste had been caught up on the line and made a partial blockage, and water was backing up from the entry to the RO drain.
Our solution was to remove everything, and take some time to think about the best way to install so that the customer can easily access all the valves.
