The LC70 has finally got the drop-sided rear bed I planned all along (now the painting disaster has been fixed...), and I much prefer the looks. The metal mudguards help fill in all that empty space around the rear axle, and I've managed to squeeze in a spare tyre too.
I've swapped the standard Boom Racing foams for softer RC4WD ones, as the BR ones need far more weight than this truck has to give any compliance - the Hustlers' sidewalls are pretty stiff. I've also swapped the rear springs to the same soft rate as the front.
Since this run I've managed to stand the shocks up almost vertical, as there's room for low-profile shock hoops now as I've mounted this bed a little above the chassis rails. It'll be interesting to see how that affects it – there's a lot less drop in the rate as it reaches full compression now, so a bit more support.
I've got a light kit I was planning to have in there by now, but man, it's complicated...
You can see how slippery the rocks were, but it didn't do too badly, I thought... and the mud was fun!
