Tigers make a few different vocalizations, perhaps the most impressive sound is this deep, moaning roar which can often be heard from a long distance away. Other tiger sounds include chuffing calls, growls, moans and hissing.
This recording captures the roar of a wild Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) calling at night in a lowland forest in Nepal.
