They’re the front door to your medical provider. “We are here to help our patients navigate any issues they may have, any concerns they may have, connecting them with their provider.” Vanessa Pruneda is the director of the LPG Contact Center.
In addition to helping our community schedule and reschedule medical appointments, “We are an extension to your provider and to your care team, so if you need a return-to-work note, you need a prescription, then we make contact with your provider's team and then they take care of that request for you,” said Pruenda.
The Ft. Myers based office supports LPG primary care, pediatrics, adult specialty care and OB/GYN at more than 50 locations, answering five to six thousand phone calls every day.
“It allows the locations to be able to give more patient face time to the patients…so if you can imagine alleviating thousands of calls going into your provider's office so that they can take care of you in person,” said Pruenda.
The staff is also trained to help assist patients in case of an emergency. “So if you call me and you have an urgent matter, we immediately connect you to a Nurse Triage to assess you…that way they can ask more in-depth clinical questions and then they take care of you from there,” said Pruneda. A helping hand that’s just a phone call away.
