In this video you can hear what a Porsche 911 engine with bore scoring sounds like when the engine is at full operating temperature from the top side of the engine (with the decklid open). Often cylinder bore scoring in Porsche Boxster, Cayman, or 911 engines is misdiagnosed as bad lifters when in fact the noise is caused by increase piston to cylinder clearance resulting in piston slap.
