Here we have the official launch film from Land Rover of the Discovery 2. This film was sent to current Land Rover customers on a VHS videotape. The objective was to invite you to upgrade your Discovery 1 to the new Land Rover Discovery 2. The video is a good one to watch as it explains the features that Land Rover added into the Discovery 2. Some new Land Rover 4x4 technology was added including the BMW TD5 Diesel Engine, which was a massive improve from the previous Diesel Engine used on the Discovery 1.

The video also shows the 32,000km+ test drive of two new Discovery 2 Land Rover across the world, which started from London on the 1st June 1988. The amazing trip lasted over 45 days and went to the far reaches of the world.

This model of the Discovery ran from autumn 1998 to 2004. The vehicle was made at Solihull, UK and featured a number of new technologies including ACE. It was replaced by Discovery 3 in June 2004. This version of the Discovery is still a fabulous 4x4 today and it is still possibly my favorite out of the five bigger Discoveries.
