Asian carp are among the most hated fish in America as they are an invasive species that is causing widespread ecological chaos and destruction. Natural resource experts believe that completely eliminating these fish is now simply impossible and that the most productive solution to the long-term management of these fish in order to decrease their numbers and utilize this otherwise wasted food source is to promote large-scale harvesting through both commercial and recreational fishing. However, it's been very difficult to get people interested in catching these fish. Primarily because there's such little interest in eating them and the general public does not know how delicious and nutritious they are. In this video, you’ll learn all about the Asian carp, primarily the silver carp and bighead carp. You’ll learn the answers to many common questions such as, “Can you eat Asian carp? Are Asian carp edible? Are Asian carp good to eat? Do Asian carp taste good?” You’ll also learn why Asian carp are not nearly as contaminated by mercury levels and other contaminants as compared to most other fish.
