The Bovine Viral Diarrhoea virus (BVDv) is clever, and can set up shop in so-called 'Persistently Infected' animals. These PIs act as prolific vectors of the infection. Therefore the swift detection and removal of these animals from herds is the foundation of BVD control at an individual and national herd level.
