Burning crop residue makes the air quality further unacceptable. So, how can we stop the waste burning, while also adding value to it? Vidyut Mohan talks about innovative technology that turns waste crop residue into compost, thereby mitigating smoke emissions and creating extra income for marginalized farmers. Vidyut Mohan, the co-founder of Takachar won the Earthshot Prize for the year 2021 and was also one of the “Young Champions of the Earth” winners by United Nations Environment Programme.
