Kenny interviews Lexi Mestas, a 27-year-old diagnosed with a rare subtype of Ovarian Cancer, Low-Grade Serous, in February of 2021.
Experiencing symptoms for 8 years, Lexi was brushed off, ignored, and misdiagnosed with IBS. Often called “the silent killer,” ovarian cancer masks itself as GI-related issues in a world where we currently have no screening test for this most deadly gynecological cancer.
Through treatment, Lexi set into action, raising funds for her rare subtype that receives 1% of all funding for ovarian cancer research, raising awareness for earlier detection, and encouraging people with ovaries to advocate for their health.
