Hind limb lameness identification is little difficult when compared to forelimb lameness. There are some key tricks to identify the legs involved.
Hip hike or rise when the affected limb hits the ground. Sometimes the hip will move towards the sound limb to load more weight on the sound limb.
The horse will not bear the weight on an affected limb. So the affected limb will get off the ground very quickly.
