It all started December 15th of 2016. I was putting up my el cheapo fake Christmas tree and noticed that I had no tree topper. I wasn't about to go back to the store and buy one of the overpriced, overused angle things. So I had to come up with a solution….a 3D printed TARDIS tree topper! It also turned out to be the perfect opportunity to test out the timelapse feature on my camera. I downloaded the TARDIS from Thingiverse, sliced it with Simplify3d, and printed it on my Wanhao Duplicator i3. In this video I go over some of the very basics of printing a 3D object. I plan to delve deeper into the world of 3D printing in future videos so enjoy and stay tuned for more.
P.S. If you are thinking about getting a Wanhao Duplicator i3 then I highly recommend Simplify3d. It’s the only slicing software that I know of that comes with Wanhao i3 printer profiles pre-installed.
