In this video I try to quickly show what we did with our first harvest of sacha inchi "nuts"(Plukenetia volubilis, i did mispronounce it in the video). We planted a bunch of seeds that we collected from our good buddies food forest about a year ago. (Big thanks to Coconut Chris for the work trade opportunity) We noticed a few weeks ago that the first pods were changing color as they ripened up. We werent really sure what to do with them and we gathered them and set them aside. Then about a week ago we were getting some kwai muk fruits from our friend Oscar (check out fruitlovers.com) and he shared some with us that he had purchased. He remarked that he had to buy some to see if it was worth all thw work of processing his. We really enjoyed them and it gave us the push we needed to figure it out.
I hope this video helps if you are growing them and arent sure what to do next. or maybe it just sparks your interest in something new.
If you have processed them before and have some tips, please share them in the comments!
