I use to grow this plant in St. Louis. The Musa Basjoo - Japanese Fiber Banana was an easy no fuss plant. It multiplexed by shoots from the roots. This plant was about $35 each back then. I had to leave the plants with the sale of my old home.
So I was thrilled to have my friend bring me a new one. The fruit is not addable. But I love the look of the plant. And I love that I do not have to dig it up in my state of Missouri. For over 10 years I dug and replanted the plantain banana trees. So I was so happy to find this one.
I also was thrilled to find buried treasure in my yard. :)
