The 7th China International Import Expo featured exhibitors from 129 countries showcasing their products to the Chinese markets. During my stay in China, there has been very little of the Caribbean to showcase. Imagine my excitement, therefore, when I saw a Trinidad and Tobago booth showcasing Angostura's return.
Dropped in while the final touches were being added for the official opening. The Angostura brand, from Trinidad and Tobago, used the CIIE platform to signal its return to the Chinese market. This was on the heels of an appointment of a new China distributor earlier this year. Earlier this year, Angostura’s chairman, Terrence Bharath, expressed optimism that Angostura will shortly be manufacturing daily to satisfy the demand being anticipated from the Chinese market. Definitely looking forward to following how the Matchmaking Conference, which forms part of the Expo, will help Angostura to expand its exports. Angostura currently exports products to 170 markets.
