This is a home-build optical lapmaster. It is based on a Loh Wetzlar PM-500 polishing machine. I poured a 550mm diameter pitch lap on top of the polishing table with a central hole of 150mm. there are 2 positions on the machine occupied: one position contains the bruiser plate, which is made of granite. It is intended to keep the pitch lap in flat condition, by placing it at the right distance from the center of the pitch lap. There is a weight on top of it to keep the pressure on the surface relatively high.
The principle of the continuous pitch polisher is discussed in my follow-up video on the subject

The second position contains a granite holding ring, which can contain the samples to be polished. I used this machine to make germanium flats as well as secondary mirrors for Newtonian telescopes.
I sold this machine a few years ago, so unfortunately I cannot make a follow-up video.
