The automatic choke on the Briggs & Stratton Intek and Endurance V-twin engines are being used by a lot of different lawn tractor manufacturers these days. And with all the problems caused by modern gas and shade tree/ internet mechanics out there trying to fix their own stuff, there has been a lot of confusion about how the choke system works as well as what these parts do. Many people get confused when they see the air vain. They think that it is for the throttle like it was on push mowers for decades. It's a pretty simple set up as you can see! But this is the difference between having your engine worked on between a certified Briggs & Stratton MST or a shade tree mechanic who doesn't know what they're actually looking at and will just throw parts at it until it is fixed.
