[ Ссылка ] The European Parliament has backed a motion to make EU farming subsidies more transparent.
MEPs called for the names of all beneficiaries of Common Agricultural Policy funding to be made public.
No farm, unless it is a cooperative, would receive more than 300,000 euros a year.
The parliament's proposal will now be negotiated with the European Commission and EU member states.
The EU's Commissioner for Agriculture Dacian Ciolos told euronews that an agreement must be found soon:
"No-one will be 100 percent happy, but what's important is that these three institutions together reach an agreement so that the Common Agricultural Policy changes in the future, so that we can take more account of small agricultural holdings' circumstances to allow them to evolve also in terms of economic development, to ensure that we can support young farmers in a more consistent manner and on a European scale."
