The summer festival in Ueno features a different event everyday, like a toro nagashi paper-lantern floating ceremony and an ice-sculpture display. About half way around Shinobazuno-ike Pond extends an antique market, which always attracts a crowd. This is also a good area to take a break, gazing at the lotus flowers and feeling the cool breeze from the pond.
