One of the most thoughtlessly repeated slogans of the modern, New Age landscape is "I'm not religious; I'm spiritual". Though everyone in our current materialist and failed culture is encouraged to blindly repeat this slogan, most do so without even fully understanding what they are saying. Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya explains to us in this concise talk that this saying is usually a code phrase used to justify a shallow and "safe" approach to spirituality, rather than an approach to spirituality that involves depth, commitment and courage. We are called to transcend sectarianism and denominationalism; but we are simultaneously meant to practice the spiritual path with unfaltering commitment.
