Join us for an adventure as we build the FIRST ever suit of armor at IronCrown Workshop! After years of preparation, I’m ready to take a shot at building myself my very own suit of armour!

► THE MISSION
Our goal is to build a high-level, infantry harness from the 15th century with the objective of finishing this harness for Call to Arms 2023. Call to Arms is a living history event aiming to recreate and follow the events of the Burgundian Wars (1474-1477) fought between Charles the Bold and the Swiss confederacy. Our aim is to create a harness accurate to the time, region and composition of a mercenary in this war.

► THE ARMOR
As part of this project we will be making four pieces of armor as part of this kit:
- A Sallet
- A Bevor
- Breastplate
- Gauntlets.
The harness will be inspired by Italian export armor since Milanese armor was prolific across the European continent during the mid to late 15th Century. We'll be using extend pieces from museums like the MET and the Royal Armories along with historical artworks as the foundation of this project

► WHAT YOU'LL SEE
Join as for the journey as we travel back in time and reproduce pieces of armor right out of museums and into real life. This series will follow our path as we research, design and then build the armour exploring step by step the techniques of how armor is made. By the end of this journey not only will you get to see the armor made but also come to understand the context and the history around the Burgundian Wars and the world of the late 15th Century.
