This place is well known to all paragliders in Russia: the relief and the wind rose of the Chegem gorge allow local and visiting daredevils to soar in the air for a long time together with mountain eagles. In the vicinity of the small alpine village of Eltuby, this year there were especially many fans of the gliding parachute - most likely because of the closed borders.Which gave the locals hope for the future. After all, it is only thanks to paragliders that the villagers have the opportunity to somehow earn money, there are simply no other sources of livelihood in these places, except for raising livestock and small vegetable gardens.

The Chegem Gorge is considered the heart of Kabardino-Balkaria. It is here that the invisible border passes, which divides the mountain peaks into the North and South Caucasus.

Translated from Balkar, Chegem means "broken earth".
