With a strong family history of breast cancer, Mistie Drey has always been aware of her personal risk for the disease. She's gotten mammograms annually since the age of 27, and added annual MRIs after suspicious cells were found in 2012. As she neared the age at which her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, she made the decision to undergo a prophylactic (preventive) double mastectomy and reconstruction.

"As I researched the procedure online, I couldn't find a lot that talked about the whole process from start to finish," she said. If sharing her journey could help other women take their breast health seriously, Mistie decided, it was worth it – so she kept a video diary to record her experience.
