What are transfer credit evaluations? Basically, it's a review of the courses you've taken at your previous college(s) to see if they can be transferred over and applied toward your degree at your new school.

Thinking about transferring to Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU)? Have some questions about the transfer credit evaluation process? We get it. In 2022, about 70% of our students enrolled at SNHU with transfer credit, so we’re pretty familiar with the process!
So, why are transfer credit evaluations important? Your previously earned credits can save you time and money by allowing you to apply that coursework toward your online degree at SNHU. (Besides, who doesn't love the idea of getting a head start on their degree?)
Here are the details about the transfer credit evaluation process at SNHU.
Step 1: Apply. For free.
Yes, applying to SNHU really is free. What’s even better is that the application should only take you about 5 minutes to complete!
Step 2: Request your transcripts.
Actually, you can almost skip this step. That’s because SNHU will do it for you on your behalf. Just let your admission counselor know which colleges you attended. And SNHU will actually pay for your transcripts! (If you’ve been to a few schools before SNHU, that can be a major cost savings to you!)
Step 3: Review your evaluation.
This should only take a few days to get. That’s because SNHU has worked with almost every school across the country in transferring credits. (Which means we’ve already done the evaluation process with your school – helping you get your transfer credit evaluation faster.)
Have questions about your transfer credit evaluation? No problem! Check in with your admission counselor, who can help you review it and answer any questions you have.
SNHU accepts a lot of transfer credits. In fact, you can bring over up to 90 credits toward your bachelor’s degree – that could be 75% of your program already completed before you take your first class!
And here’s one other thing to keep in mind: Transfer credits do not count toward your SNHU GPA. (It’s kind of like starting over at SNHU if your previous grades weren’t where you’d like them to be now!)
The transfer credit evaluation process at SNHU could seem overwhelming at first, but it's a pretty quick process – with little to no work on your end.
Go ahead and take the first step – apply for free and submit those transcripts! We can't wait to see you at SNHU.
