One of my favorite books that can help you with copywriting is the Book of Gossage. This guy is someone you've probably never heard of. He's the Socrates of San Francisco and the original advertising troll. He did crazy stuff like paying to run an ad in a magazine and cut it off mid-sentence.
A week later, he'd run another ad continuing the rest of the paragraph. He would help get people to the gas station by giving out balloons filled with pink air, which was really just a pink balloon inside of a clear balloon.
He would come up with these tacky, weird, amazing, almost like PR stunt-type campaigns that would get people super engaged with the advertisement. Instead of trying to carpet-bomb the landscape with as much media and impressions as he could, he would do the opposite. He would write one ad and run it in one magazine at one time, trying to do the least amount of advertising possible with the biggest impact, and he would slaughter everyone else.
He's the guy that you should try to emulate as much as you can with your types of campaigns and things.
