"We have struck several terrorist training camps, we've damaged most of the airfields, I believe all but one, as well as their anti-aircraft radars and launchers. And with the success of previous raids, we believe we are now able to carry out strikes more or less around the clock, as we wish."

"The broad category of targets included airfields, air defense, communications, and as I mentioned, the al-Qaeda infrastructure and forces. I want to show you the areas that we hit on days one and two. As you'll see from the first slide, we covered many targets throughout the country."

"We've seen the reports that 4 Afghan men who may have been associated with a contractor dealing with the UN may have been killed. We have no information from the ground to verify this, and we have no information that would let us know whether it was a result of ordnance fired from the air, or the ordnance that we've seen fired from the ground on television. Nonetheless, we regret the loss of life. Terrorists attacked and killed thousands of innocent people in dozens of countries of all races and religions in the United States on Tuesday, the 11th. Innocent lives are still at risk today, and will be, until we have dealt with the terrorists."

STORYLINE:
The Bush administration gave an overview of the results of the air strikes on Afghanistan at the Pentagon on Tuesday.
Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said that three days of air strikes by U-S and British warplanes mean that aerial assaults can now be carried out round the clock.
General Richard Myers, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said that Sunday and Monday's attacks damaged or destroyed more than 80 percent of targets throughout Afghanistan.
The Pentagon also unveiled the first images of the damage that has resulted from the operations in Afghanistan.
In surveillance photos taken from the air, Rumsfeld and Myers revealed before and after photos of specific targets, including what was described as a "terror camp" south of Kabul, and a surface to air missile site near Kandahar.
Rumsfeld declined to say what the next step in the military campaign would be.
