Sanatorium depicts the internal conflict of an isolated woman trying to liberate herself from her past, in order to regain control of her life.
Based on a dream the artist's mother had of him, Conor Galloway's short film explores the long term feelings of monotony, numbness, repetition and depersonalisation that come with an individual's battle against depression. Deeply interested in the human capacity for self-change in a seemingly mundane existence, Sanatorium continues Galloway's exploration of cathartic transformations of the self from internal and external pressures.
