2020 (800 Hours to complete)
Named 'Hope', Kyle has skillfully recounted the tale of three pioneering inhabitants of St Arnaud, a once-thriving gold mining town nestled between Ballarat and Mildura.
Set in the 1800s, 'Hope' revolves around a determined miner in pursuit of a glimmer of gold in his pan. His heart swells with hope for his wife, wondering if she'll manage to procure sustenance and clothing for their family. Additionally, he holds hope for the prosperity of their young child.
As a devoted local resident, Kyle is passionately engaged in promoting St Arnaud's allure through tourism. His dedication has been showcased through the creation of numerous captivating murals gracing the town's walls.
All photographs are graciously provided by Kyle Torney.

What is Silo Art?
Silo art - type of public art that is created by painting large-scale murals on grain silos.
The art is typically commissioned by local communities or organizations, and it often celebrates the history, culture, people, or natural beauty of the area.
The first silo art project was created in 2015 in Northam, Western Australia.
It can help to revitalize rural communities, attract tourists, and raise awareness of important issues. It can be a powerful tool for storytelling.
For example, some silo murals have been created to raise awareness of climate change or the importance of preserving rural heritage.
