Did you know that in The Avengers, the filmmakers foreshadowed everything for us? In this scene, Iron Man saves the world with a snap, but it leads to his death. If you look closely at Tony's facial wounds, you'll notice they resemble the damage on Iron Man's helmet from the beginning of the movie. The filmmakers did this intentionally. Another detail is Captain America's shield breaking. If you pay attention to how it breaks, you'll see it's similar to how his shield broke in Age of Ultron.
