The wreck of an American aircraft carrier sunk during the Battle of the Coral Sea in World War II has been discovered in deep ocean off the Coast of Queensland. The USS Lexington, nicknamed the “Lady Lex” was found lying in waters almost 3 kilometres deep and about 800 kilometres northeast of Australia in the Coral Sea by billionaire explorer Paul Allen. The Museum has a news clip from Channel 7 (broadcast on 6 March 2018) which includes a quick interview with John Wright, Executive Officer, MacArthur Museum-Brisbane.
