Another video showing just about the same thing but with a cameraman so you can get a better feel for the internal space that is made available with the tent poles can be found here: [ Ссылка ]
This is how I was able to maximize the room under my 10x16 foot hammock camping tarp for free and without sewing. This can be used and removed without a trace on your tarp. I used stuff I already had laying around my house. If you’re a camper you probably have most of this stuff too. If you don’t own ANY of this stuff it would only cost about $100 to buy everything I used in this video with six extra stakes and reflective guyline included with the tarp. Load bearing no snag carabiners are included with the tree straps that I trust to hold my hammock. I have taken the time to include links to almost everything needed to have the exact same setup as shown in this video. The shockcord and small pieces of line can be purchased through nearly any camping supply store. I am not sponsored or compensated in any way.
I am going to post two videos showing pretty much the same thing to make sure everyone has a pretty good idea of how I did this. I couldn’t find any other videos that did a new sew mod, and only a few that showed cheap pole mods that required some minor tarp modifications. I’d like to thank everyone that shares good ideas on YouTube!!
Items used:
Free bungee cord ends off of old bungees (shown in video). Or ideally four tent pin and rings. $2.49/each. x4

Shock cord, about 10 feet total (two 5ft pieces). $5.00ish? with a lot to spare for other projects.
Two small carabiners, $1.00ish/each x2
Paracord - Everyone has extra line laying around. FREE.
Tent poles. You want some that are about one to two feet longer than your tarp width. I had some fiberglass poles laying around from an old tent. The price of these will vary greatly depending on how you get them and what material they are. A quick search on Amazon says a pair of aluminum poles are between $20-$30.
Walmart Y-stakes (6 total) They cost 10¢ more on the website than they do at my local store.
$0.88 x 6

Tree hugger straps. $11.99!! With two snag free load bearing carabiners that I hang my hammock with and a storage bag.

Mier 10x16 foot tarp. $39.99!! Includes a nice bag, reflective guyline, and 6 hexagonal aluminum tent stakes. AWESOME DEAL!
One side is reflective. I put the reflective side facing in during cold weather and out during hot weather. This is a perfect winter tarp that allows for extra space under the tarp protected from the weather. It is awesome in the heat of the summer too because it provides a lot of shade.
