The Fisheries sector in the Gambia is the second most important economic sector after agriculture. It is the secondary food source basket of the Gambia. Almost every household depend on sea food products for their lives and livelihoods.
The economic potentials of the Fisheries sector is not realized due to inadequate investments from both government and the private sector. There are vast investment opportunities within the Fisheries sector.
