St. James (sv. Jakov) is the patron saint of Pitve on Hvar island. His feast day, 25th July, is celebrated in style in the village, starting with Mass and a procession in the morning. There is much singing throughout the day, as well as eating, drinking and dancing to the late hours. The pictures in the slideshow are taken from 2012 and 2013. The singing is from 2013. Roza Radonić and Juraj Petrovac sang the duet, and the Pitve choir was led by Agneza Medić (née Radonić) from the organ.
