Episode 3:
JESSICA RIVERA - Stage Tech Teacher, Renaissance High School for the Arts, Long Beach, CA
This is Jessica Rivera’s sixth year working on the Renaissance High School for the Arts (RHSA) staff. She has a B.A. Degree in Technical Theater and Design and a Music Minor from California State University of Long Beach. She holds a Career Technical Education Teaching Credential in Arts, Media, and Entertainment from the Los Angeles County Office of Education and University of San Diego.
She is a proud Alumni of RHSA, class of 2009, where she found her passion for working in the field of technical theater and is honored to now be the technical theater instructor at her alma mater. She currently is the full-time technical director at RHSA and teaches four stage technology classes of 10th- 12th-grade students.
Her theater productions as technical director at RHSA include: Twelfth Night, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Odd Couple (Female Version), Singin’ in the Rain, Almost Maine, You’re a Goodman Charlie Brown, Our Town, The Wiz, and The Mousetrap.
Mrs. Rivera would like to thank her stage technology students for their help building the set and props and setting up the lights and sound for all productions at RHSA! She wants all of her students to be successful and gain work skills for future careers by taking the Stage Technology course which is why she has high expectations for her students. She wants her students to remember their theater family and know that we will all get through this together.
