There was a lot of hype when PRS announced that they were going to introduce the Silver Sky. When John Mayer left Fender to join forces with PRS, it caused waves in the guitar world.
John Mayer, historically a Strat player, collaborated with Paul Reed Smith to come up with the Silver Sky. Obviously, the guitar is Strat inspired. But is the Silver Sky just another Strat?
There are some slight differences between the Silver Sky and a Fender Stratocaster, but it seems that they are just enough to keep any design pattens from being infringed upon.
Whether it is "just another Strat" or not, the Silver Sky is a solid guitar with a great sound and a great feel. Any guitar player would be happy to have a Silver Sky in their collection.
