❤️ Part 6: Lacing Hearts- Valentine’s Day Fine Motor Play - Home Learning Activity
👦🏼 Providing Fun Learning & Development Opportunities At Home.
📺 Full step by step instructions are available on our YouTube channel Little Learners Education
♥️ For the lacing hearts activity we used:
* Coloured card cut into the shape of hearts
* Hole punch
* Wool
* Sticky tape
* Pony beads
* Child safe scissors
lacing and threading are all great for developing fine motor skills and strength finger tendons and muscles.
✋Method:
1. Wrap some sticky tape around the top section of the wool. This prevents fraying of the wool and ease to thread through the holes of the card.
2. Using the hole punch, pierce holes around the outline of the heart.
3. Thread the wool through the first hole, tie a knot and secure it with sticky tape onto the card.
4. Continue to lace and weave in and out of the holes.
5. Thread some bead in between to decorate the heart.
6. Once complete, cut the excess wool, tie a knot at the end of the wool and stick it onto to card with sticky tape, to hold the weaving work in place.
Please supervise your child at all times during the activity.
