Hello my name is Patricia Bleckman, and I’m going to show you how to configure the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency controller for use with a door switch, using the controller’s webpage.
At this point you should have already installed the door switch, and the controller, and they are wired together. Additionally, the controller should be connected to either the Internet, directly to your computer, or to a KE2 Therm wifi service tool.
The first step is to find the controller’s IP address. It’s on a sticker on the back of the controller. Then, select a web browser, and enter the controller’s IP address in the browser’s search bar.
This will take you to the Home Page of the controller. From here select the Setpoints button at the bottom of the page.
At the bottom of the Setpoints page, you will see the Login button. Click Login.
You will now need to enter the User Name and Password. The defaults are ke2admin and ke2admin, but we encourage you to change these for security reasons.
Then, press the Submit button in the lower right corner of the page.
Okay, so we are back on the Setpoints page, and we are logged in, so now we can make the necessary changes.
On the upper right side of the page you will see the Digital Inputs section. Select Dig In 1 Mode, and make sure that door switch is selected.
Then to the right of this you will see Dig In 1 State, the default is Closed. Use the drop down to switch it to Open. I should mention, this can be set to Closed for a normally open door switch.
Click Save to keep your changes.
There is one more item that pertains to the door switch. . It is the Door Alarm Delay and is found on the right side, near the bottom of the page, under Alarms.
If the door is open for longer than the Door Alarm Delay, and the temperature rises 5 degrees Fahrenheit, the Door Alarm is activated. The system will resume cooling to protect the perishable product. The default Door Alarm Delay is 30 minutes, but it can be changed to slightly exceed the time needed to stock the walk-in.
I also want to recommend that while you are logged in you go to the Settings page, and enter the information in the Alert Notifications section. You will then receive Emails and Text messages when there are system alarms.
