Dzūkija National Park is a national park in Dzūkija, Lithuania, was established in 1991 in order to preserve the pine forests, the landscape, and the villages of the region. The area encompasses 584.53 square kilometers on the banks of the Nemunas River. The park is the largest protected area in Lithuania.
The pine forests, inland dunes, swamps and rivers that reign in the country’s largest national park harbour a unique natural world, giving shelter to numerous rare plants and animals. The park is also home to Čepkeliai Marsh - one of the most protected natural sites in Lithuania.

Čepkeliai reservation - the heart of the Dainava Forest is the largest territory of pristine, undisturbed nature in Lithuania. The Dzūkija National Park is also distinctive for its rich cultural heritage, namely, its Dzūkai villages, which have preserved their traditional architectural features as well as the local residents’ unique way of life.
