China continues to make great diplomatic strides in the Middle East as the US remains bogged down by the war in Ukraine. In November, Beijing struck a deal with Doha to supply liquified natural gas over 27 years. In early March, China brokered a Saudi-Iran rapprochement, which led to the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two archenemies.
