Spring 2023 Evening Lecture Series: Janet Alling "On Her Work," recorded on February 21, 2023.
Janet Alling is a graduate of Yale School of Art and Architecture. Sensing both her affinity and difference with fellow students, she found her subject in flowers. She was eager to investigate their essence and power and redefine a category of painting regarded as decorative and conventional. She redefines flower painting as an essential subject of contemporary art. Her newly published book, Unanticipated – A Life in Art tells her path to present day through text and over 275 images.
Please consider making a gift to the Evening Lecture Series. Your donation will support the Series ongoing twice-weekly discussions of contemporary art and art history, which are free and open to all.
